3.6 MOWING
Before starting the mowing, remove the blade guards and the
outer mowing bar supports (Fig. 23).
- Remove support (A, Fig. 24).
- During mowing, never push the motor to peak rpm. The P.T.O.
must not exceed 540 rev/min
- Do not work with the P.T.O. synchronised with the wheels.
- Do not run the machine loadless at high rpm. For this reason,
during the turns, the engine speed has to be reduced.
- Each time the mower reaches the end of the field, drive out of
the fodder grass while decelerating and enter into it while
accelerating (up to peak rpm as indicated above).
- Mow the field as shown in Fig. 25, always restarting the mowing
close to the section just mowed, in the opposite direction.
- On particularly steep ground where the fodder grass tends to
flatten in a downhill direction during mowing, proceed
transversally (Fig. 26).
- If the fodder grass is flattened, it is advisable to mow in the
opposite direction to that in which it is lying in order to improve
the quality of the cut.
- The recommended forward speed is between 6 and 10 Km/h
(depending on the levelness and gradient of the ground and
according to the type and density of the fodder grass).
- The first mowing is the most heavy-duty for the mower; for this
reason it is a good idea to maintain a low forward speed,
increasing the speed for successive mowings.
- When the ground is uneven and the blades get clogged with
earth, lift from the ground, adjusting the position of the skids on
the two mowing bar supports.
- The mower is fitted with a safety device for protection against
obstacles. If this device is tripped by impact with an obstacle,
stop the tractor without raising the cutting arm. Check that the
universal joint has not become seperated, if so, reassemble it.
Reverse the tractor until the safety tie rod hooks up again.
If the tie rod releases easly, adjust spring as indicated in
paragraph 2.1.
