Maintenance and servicing

Tools for lubrication

The Lube Gun (optional) is recommended for applying grease to the guide bar sprocket

tip. The Lube Gun is equipped with a needle nose tip which is necessary for the efficient

application of grease to the sprocket tip (Fig. 26).

To lubricate the sprocket tip

Lubrication of the sprocket tip is recommended after 10 hours of use or once a week,

whichever occurs first. Always thoroughly clean guide bar sprocket tip before lubrication.

NOTICE!

The saw chain does not have to be removed in order to lubricate

the sprocket tip of the chain bar. Lubrication is possible during

work, with the engine switched off.

CAUTION!

Wear heavy duty work gloves when handling the bar and chain.

1. Set the On/Off switch to Stop (0).

2. Remove the top cover & disconnect the spark plug boot

(See page 58).

3. Clean the guide bar sprocket tip.

4. Using the Lube Gun (optional), insert the needle nose into

the lubrication hole and inject grease until it appears at the

outside edge of the sprocket tip (Fig. 26).

5. Rotate the saw chain by hand. Repeat the lubrication

procedure until the entire sprocket tip has been greased.
