Receiving the Lift:
Your equipment leaves the factory in excellent condition after passing through several
levels of inspection. When receiving the lift, inspect it in the presence of the carrier.
Carefully note any signs of damage to the product, wrapping or crating and record on the
shipping documents. This means opening packages on the receiving dock if necessary
to check for hidden damage. Save or photograph any damaged packing or crating.
Immediately
report any such damage to both the carrier and Garaventa (Canada) Ltd.
Check to ensure that all required parts were received and in good condition. It is
recommended that you uncrate all parts and verify that your lift is complete with all
options and special requirements as noted on your production drawing.
It is your right to refuse freight-damaged equipment; but once you sign for the equipment
as “
received in good condition”
you jeopardize your ability to follow up with the carrier for
damages that are their responsibility.
It is your responsibility to file freight claims against the carrier for damage
done to your equipment while in transit. Garaventa (Canada) Ltd. is NOT
liable or responsible for damage to the equipment by the carrier.
Unpacking the Lift:
When undoing the wrapping take extra care not to damage the equipment inside.
WARNING: Always use two people to unpack the lift. Use caution when
removing the shrink-wrap and banding.
Spare Parts:
The most valuable element of a Technician’s tool set is a spare parts kit. The GSL Artira
Spare Parts Kit includes spares of all critical moving parts and common electrical
components. All technicians should have one of these kits in their vehicle and bring it on
site for any GSL Artira installation or service.
Spare parts will help you diagnose and fix problems faster, and eliminate the need for
return trips after waiting for replacement parts. You may also utilize low-priority (and
cheaper) shipping options when replenishing a spare parts kit, saving money all around.

Technical Support.
