EC declaration of conformity
In accordance with EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, including its amendments,

We hereby declare that the lifting eye bolt (rotating) GN 581,
based on the design as
marketed by us, satisfies the applicable requirements of the EC Machinery Directive
2006/42/EC and the fundamental safety and health requirements of the harmonized
and national norms as well as technical specifications listed below.

Commissioning
Before commissioning, always read and observe the safety instructions. Failure to heed
these instructions can result in dangers to people or damage to the product.
NOTICE
Product damage from eye bolt rotation
The lifting eye bolt (rotating) GN 581 may not be rotated while under a load!

Prevent continuous rotation of the lifting eye bolt.
NOTICE
Damage to the lifting gear
When attaching and detaching the lifting gear (lifting chain, sling loop and wire
rope), avoid all clamping, shearing, catch and impact points that may arise during
handling.

Prevent damage to the lifting gear from sharp-edged loads.
X
The product may not be brought into contact with aggressive chemicals, acids or
their vapors.
X
Inspect the lifting points for a loose bolt seat, heavy corrosion, wear, deformation,
etc. regularly and before every commissioning.
X
Orient the product in the direction of force before attaching the lifting gear.
X
The lifting gear (e.g. chain) must be able to move freely in the lifting eye bolt.
Maintenance
The product must be regularly inspected. The inspection must at least follow the stan-
dards of the country where they product is used. This is required because products in
use can be deformed by wear, improper use, etc. which can alter their material structure.

Personal injuries and property damage from failure to observe the testing
criteria
Failure to observe the testing criteria can lead to personal injuries and property
damage!

After installation and at regular intervals depending on the level of use (at least
every six months), ensure that the lifting point is still suitable for use. Also per-
form this check after instances of damage and other relevant incidents.

Check more frequently if the product is subjected to critical operating conditions
or increased wear.
Testing criteria

Make certain that the bolt is screwed in firmly and with the correct tightening torque.
X
Ensure that the lifting point is complete.
X
Check that the load capacity information and the manufacturer’s mark are complete
and legible.
X
The lifting eye bolt must turn easily without jerking.
X
Check the product for the following:
–
Deformation of load-bearing parts such as the main body and bolt
–
Mechanical damage, such as deep notches, especially in the areas under tensile
load
–
Cross-section changes due to wear > 10%
–
Heavy corrosion
–
Cracks in load-bearing parts
–
Proper function and damage to the bolt or bolt thread.

Dispose of the product safely and in an environmentally sound way.

Observe the national regulations, laws and rules.
