Lighting Instructions

NOTE:

This range is equipped with a flame detection device on

each cooktop burner and the oven burner. During the lighting
process, ensure that the knob is held in for 5-10 seconds to heat up
the thermocouple. If not held in long enough, the flame detection
device will stop gas flow to the burner.

Operating the Cooktop Burners

1.

Before lighting, reset gas control knobs

to the

OFF

 position.

2.  Check that the main inlet gas valve is

OPEN

.

3.  Push and turn the gas control knob

counterclockwise to   position
until burner lights. (You will hear

clicking sound when the knob is pushed in.)

4.  If ignition does not occur in 5 seconds, turn gas control knob

off, wait 5 minutes and repeat the lighting procedure.

5.  Once the burner flame is lit, continue to hold the cooktop

control knob in for 5-10 seconds, then release knob and verify
the cooktop burner stays lit. Repeat the above steps if the
cooktop burner flame goes out after releasing the control
knob.

6.  After the cooktop burner flame is ignited and the control knob

is released, then turn the control knob counter-clockwise to
the

desired

 burner flame setting.

7.  Verify visually that the cooktop burner has ignited once the

control knob has been set to the desired setting. The burner
flame should ignite within a few seconds.

8.  To turn off the cooktop burner, rotate the cooktop knob

clockwise to the off position.

Operating the Oven

1.

Before lighting, reset gas control knobs

to the

OFF

 position.

2.  Check that the main inlet gas valve is

OPEN

.

3.  Keep the oven door in the open

position for the full ignition process

to

view the pilot and that the oven burner has lit.

4.  Push and turn the gas control knob counterclockwise to the

position until pilot lights. (You will hear a clicking sound when
the knob is pushed in.)

5.  If ignition does not occur in 5 seconds, turn gas control knob

off, wait 5 minutes and repeat the lighting procedure.

6.  Once the pilot flame is lit, continue to hold the oven control

knob in for 5-10 seconds, then release the knob and verify the
pilot flame stays lit. Repeat the above steps if the pilot flame
goes out after releasing the knob. (Keep the oven door open
for this process)

7.  After the pilot flame is ignited and the control knob is released,

then turn the control knob counter-clockwise to the required
temperature setting.

8.  Verify visually that the oven burner has ignited once the

control knob has been set to the desired temperate. The
burner flame should ignite within a few seconds.

9.  After verifying the burner has ignited, please close the oven

door to continue the preheat process.

10.  To turn off the oven burner, rotate the oven control knob

clockwise to the off position. Ensure the burner flame and the
pilot flame have extinguished.

If the burner does not ignite

In the event of failure to light the burner within 5 seconds,
immediately turn the control knob clockwise to the

OFF

 position.

Wait at least 5 minutes and repeat the igniting procedure. If ignition
still not occur, use a gas lighter or a match to light the burner. Refer
to the ‘

Manual Ignition

’ section.

Manual Ignition

  WARNING

Use care when lighting the burners by hand. If a burner lights unexpectedly,
or your hand is to close to the burner, you could be burned.

In the event of failure to ignite the burner in standard ignition, you may
light the burner manually by following the steps below:
1.

Push in and turn the appropriate burner
control knob counterclockwise to the   position.

2.  Immediately strike and place a burning long wooden

match or a gas lighter near the burner of cooktop
(

1

) or pilot of oven (

2

a

 and
