Chapter

Loop Break Detection Time

Loop Break Detection Width

This function detects if the control loop is broken.

This function does not use a CT like the heater break

alarm, but instead PV change when using control output

to determine if the loop is broken.

The loop break detector has the following functions.

Loop break detection time and width are related as follows:

Example of Loop Break Detection in Reverse Operation

Setting Loop Break Time and Width

The following steps explain how to set alarm activation by

using detection time = 600 sec (10 min) and width = 20°C as

an example.

Loop break
detection time

Specifies how much time must pass before the
loop is determined to be broken.
• Range: 0 sec to 9999 sec

Loop break
detection width

Sets the temperature range before detecting for a
broken loop
• Range: 0.0% to 100.0% FS

Caution

If there is an abnormal input (UUUU, LLLL) or an input setting
error (Err), the loop break detection alarm sounds before even
before the loop break detection time period.

The loop break detection width is set to 20.0°C.
