7.7 Top limit switch cam
A limit switch cam (1) must be mounted as upper-
most stop point before the drive pinions leave the
gear rack. A distance of 1 3/16” (30 mm) must be
maintained from the bottom of the cam to the landing
level. Additionally, a minimal distance of 68” (1.7 m)
must be maintained from the top of the limit switch
cam (1) to the upper mast end. (The car is stopped
at this bar by the UP operating limit switch or the
emergency limit switch if there is a fault).
Working from the car, attach the limit switch cam (1)
to the mast section and fasten it in place.

The mast may be moved out over the last mast tie during operation to a
max. of 30ft (9 m) (mast tie to the top of the car). Accordingly, the
emergency limit switch bar must be set low.
Make sure that the limit switches shut off the circuit. For more informa-
tion see section 7.9.
