Safety, Error Messages, Troubleshooting, 

and Support 

 

 

This chapter provides enough information to help the user troubleshoot possible 

VT PLUS 

HF

 failures and perform diagnostics.  

Service of the 

VT PLUS HF

, other than replacement of minor components such as the fuse 

and O2 sensor, should be left to qualified Service personnel. Calibration of the tester should 
also be left to qualified Fluke Biomedical Service personnel to ensure that the 

VT PLUS HF

 

remains under warranty.

1. 

Electrical Safety and System Maintenance

 

For safe operation, the main power cord must be plugged into a power outlet that has a 
protective earth contact to connect the chassis of the 

VT PLUS HF

 to ground. Do not use 

extension cords without earth ground, or a hazardous condition may result.

 

Warning!

 

Hazardous Voltages Present.

 For safety purposes, and to avoid 

damaging the instrument, you must turn off the 

VT PLUS HF

 and 

disconnect its power cord BEFORE opening the case or performing 
other service procedures described in this chapter. 

 

Cleaning 

The system is to be cleaned with a damp cloth on the exterior only. A solution of 70% 
isopropyl alcohol may be used to remove stains and clean the system. No other solvents 
are recommended. 

Flow Port Filters 

Internal filters for protecting the flow sensors are only to be changed by qualified service 
personnel. 

Flow Port Protective Caps 

Use high/low-flow protective caps when transporting to keep foreign debris from 
entering high/low-flow ports.
