Stacked Volume Test
Overview:
The stacked-volume test measures tidal volumes over a given number of breaths
and calculates the average tidal volume.
Starting a Stacked Volume Test:
To start the stacked-volume test, just enter the number of breaths that you want
averaged. Click the
START button to begin testing.
Running the Stacked Volume Test:
When the stacked volume test begins, the VT PLUS HF will switch into
"Inspiratory Only" breath-detect mode. At the end of the test, the breath-detect
mode will be restored to its previous state. The stacked volume test reports five
values to the user. These values are updated every time a breath is detected.
Total Volume :
This value reflects the total of the tidal volumes for the
breaths tested.
Last Volume:
The tidal volume for the last breath is displayed here.
Average Volume :
The average tidal volume over the breaths that have been
tested is calculated and displayed here.
Number of Breaths : This is the number entered at the start of the test. It will
not change during a test.
Breath Count :
This is the current number of breaths that have been
included in the test. If tidal volume can't be calculated
for a breath, then that breath and volume is not included
in the test.
Ending the Stacked Volume Test
The stacked volume test may be ended at any time by clicking the
STOP
button.
Otherwise the test will end following the number of requested breaths.
Click the PRINT button to print out a report of the test. To start a new test, click
the NEW TEST button.
