15. USE OF LAMP
ONLY TYPE KML-240:
1. The lamp has a three position switch (Light/Off/
Flasher) and a filterglass.
2. Push the switch to the star sign. The light is wor-
king now.
3. Push the switch to the flash sign. The flash light is
working now.
4. To switch off the lamp the switch must be pushed
in the middle position.
5. Push the orange (or red) filterglass to the front for
a optimal emergency flash light function. See Fig. 1.
6. The lamp can be adjusted with a max. of 90 deg-
rees up or down when the button at the side is
unscrewed. After the adjustment of the angle the
button must screw again to fix the lamp. See Fig. 2.
16. USE OF THE EXTRA CIGARETTE
LIGHTER CONNECTION
ONLY TYPE KML-240:
The extra cigarette lighter connection which is identi-
cal to the cigarette lighter connection of your car can
be found at the side of the compresor. When you have
connected the compressor to the cigarette lighter
connection of your car you are able to connect other
accessories with the 12 Volt car battery.
Do not use the compressor and one of
the accesories at the same time. The
power needed can be too high which
will result in a burned fuse, a melted
adapter plug or a dead car battery.
17. MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the apparatus before car-
rying out inspection or cleaning. Never use
water or other liquids to clean the electrical
parts of the compressor.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE OF YOUR COM-
PRESSOR PREVENTS UNNECESSARY PRO-
BLEMS!
Keep the outside of the compressor clean especially
the ventilation slots so that a efficient cooling can take
place.
18. TROUBLESHOOTING
In case the compressor does not work well, we give
you subjoined some possible causes and their solu-
tions:
1. Compressor will not run:
Car fuse may be burned out.
- Check the function of the cigarette lighter. Replace
the burned fuse with a 15 Amp. fuse if necessary.
Check socket for foreign materials, built up tobac-
co residue, etc. Socket can be cleaned with a small
piece of wood and blown out. Do not use metal
object.
- Twist plug several times in socket for better contact.
- Check the wires connection of cord to motor. Have
the apparatus repaired by your Ferm dealer.
The switch is defective.
- Have the apparatus repaired at your Ferm dealer.
2. Compressor runs but labours:
Most probable cause is a low voltage battery.
- Start car and let idle, this will increase voltage to
optimize performance;
