ety devices and machine parts must be repaired or
replaced by a recognized service centre. Damaged
switches must be replaced by a service centre. Do
not use the machine when it cannot be switched
on or off.
For your own safety use only acces-
sories and attachments recommended
in this manual or the catalogue. The
use of other than the stated acces-
sories or attachments may cause inju-
ries.
5. SPECIAL SAFETY RULES
BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE:
1. Prevent a short circuit:
Protect the adapter cord against heat, oil and
sharp objects. Prevent a short circuit. When con-
necting the compressor to the car battery dange-
rous situations can occure in case of a short cir-
cuit. A car battery contains a great amount of
energy that can cause injuries. Damaged parts
must be replaced at once.
2. The compressor must be ventilated properly.
To get a good ventilation and cooling it is necces-
sary that the compressor is not covered.
3. Check the following:
- Make sure the voltage of the compressor (12
Volt) corresponds with the battery voltage;
- Can the car battery supply 10 Ampère conti-
nuously;
- Use a correct connected cigarette lighter con-
nection;
- Are the adapter cord and plug in good condi-
tion, without ravels or damages.
4. Let the car engine run idle.
When the compressor is connected to the sigaret
lighter connection of the car, use the compressor
as short as possible (at most 20 minutes) to pre-
vent a dead battery and your car cannot be started.
Let the car engine not run idle in a closed
room, for example a garage in case of carbon
monoxide poisoning.
5. Avoid the use of long extension cables.
6. First check the pressure of the object to be
inflated.
This can be done with a pressure gauge.
7. Avoid (too) high pressure.
ALWAYS PLACE THE COMPRESSOR OUTSIDE
THE CAR, DURING OPERATION OF THE COM-
PRESSOR. NEVER LET THE COMPRESSOR RUN
UNATTENDED.
These compressors can be used for a
max. time of 20 minutes. Longer use will
lead to overheating or damage of the
compressor. Is a longer use neccessary,
switch off the apparatus after 20 minu-
tes. Switch on the machine after a 10
minutes rest.
IMMEDIATELY SWITCH OFF THE APPLIAN-
CE WHEN:
1. plug and/or cable are defective or damaged;
2. switch is defective;
3. you smell or see smoke caused by scorched insula-
tion.
