Phase Shift

RMmMvMMM AmbMMMMMy

When the phase difference of laser light is measured, there is some

ambiguity, because the location of the phase can vary periodically.

This means that the phases of the emitted light and the returning light

may align perfectly, so the phase shift distance measurement is zero.

To eliminate this ambiguity and increase the accuracy of the data, the

Focus

emits laser light at more than one frequency.
