Troubleshooting
The purpose of this chapter is to offer help to quickly
solve the most frequent problems, and, if necessary,
solve them during installation or use.
Untimely enablement of
self-protection of a device
Make sure that the enclosure of the device is correctly
closed, or that it is not subjected to strong vibrations.
Movement detector
• Make sure that no disturbing element is present in the
detection range (animals, ventilation opening, heating, a
strong draught, fireplace/chimney…), otherwise move the
detector.
Opening detector
• Check if the distance between detector and the magnetic
part is not excessive.
• If the access point is subjected to overly strong vibrations:
replace the opening detector with a movement detector.
Untimely enablement of intrusion
alarm, due to a detector
When the user returns to the protected room, the alarm is
tripped immediately and there is not enough time to access a
keypad to disable the alarm.
• The detector/s protecting access to the keypad are not in
the “delayed alarm” position.
At every detection (a person passing in front of a movement
detector or the opening of a protected passage), the
detector sounds several beeps.
• Replace the batteries.
At every detection (a person passing in front of a movement
detector or the opening of a protected passage), the
detector sounds one beep.
• The detector’s test push-button was pressed.
The beep will stop automatically at the end of the test.
Other problems concerning a detector
Movement detector
• The detector is badly oriented, replace the detector
according to the recommendations in the instructions.
Opening detector
• The magnetic part is too far away; move the enclosure or
the magnetic part, in order to reduce the distance between
the two elements.
Detector does not beep during the test
No beep can be heard from a detector, telephone transmitter,
or siren when the test push-button is pressed.
The indicator light of the remote-control does not light up
when the key is pressed.
The control keypad display is completely OFF.
The control keypad does not sound any beep, when a key
is pressed.
• Check the polarity and condition of the batteries.
• Check the connection of the battery block (for the outdoor
siren).
• Check if the device is installed according to the
recommendations of the relevant instructions.
One of the devices is totally
inactive
The control unit emits a series of beeps and its indicator
light flashes whenever the ON or OFF keys of a remote-
control or keypad are pressed.
An event has occurred in the system:
• It can be consulted and then deleted by pressing the info
key of the control keypad.
• If there is a self-protection fault on a device, the alarm
cannot be enabled for as long as the problem remains.
• If a passage is open, the alarm can nevertheless be
enabled, by again pressing ON within 10 seconds (for a
control keypad, type the code in again before pressing ON
again).
• Make sure that the telephone line is correctly connected.
The control unit indicator light flashes continuously and the
control keypad just displays an empty house.
• The system has remained in maintenance status, because
the enclosure of one of the system’s elements is incorrectly
closed.
• Open the control unit compartment again.
• Check each element until the SELF-PROTECTION
indicator light goes OFF.
• Close the control unit compartment - the system is ready to
operate.
The control unit does not react or sounds several beeps
when a device is being tested.
• Make sure that the device is correctly closed and correctly
secured to the wall.
• Check the condition of the control unit's batteries and, if
necessary, replace them.
• Check if the device is recognised by the control unit.
• Repeat the test, bringing the device near to the control unit.
If the control unit reacts, there is a radio communication
problem to the control unit. Therefore, modify the definitive
position of the device.
