Symptom Cause Countermeasure

Pressure not lowering)
Vacuum cock not fully closed Check the direction of vacuum cock and
close it fully.
Faulty installation of the trap Retry installation of the trap.
Dust adhering to the contact surface
between the chamber cover and
packing
Remove dust

Light exhaust sound, but the
pressure does not lower. Vacuum pump deteriorating in
performance because it has drawn
acid and water. Change oil. If the trouble persists, repair
the vacuum pump.
Water and ice remaining in the trap Remove ice, then discharge water from the
drain.
The specified amount of oil not filled
in the vacuum pump Check the oil level and add to the specified
level.
Refrigerator switch not ON Turn ON the refrigerator switch.
Refrigerator switch is ON, but not
enough refrigeration Refer to the item “Faulty refrigeration.”
Pressure not returning to the
normal level even after stop
of the vacuum pump Clogged leak filter Replace the leak filter.
