WARNING
During the alarm
silence time, keep
the patient and
the device
monitored to
check that the
alarm condition
has actually been
cleared.
When the problem
has been solved,
the device emits a
two-tone acoustic
signal.
Check that the canister and the vacuum generator are properly
connected.
WARNING
Check that the wound is not haemorrhaging (check
for any signs of bleeding in the suction tube and the
canister). If so, urgent and appropriate medical
action needs to be taken.
Check that the wound is not taking in air and/or that the suction tube
connections are sealed.
The alarm can be silenced for 2 minutes by pressing
OK
This alarm is automatically reset only when the problem has been
solved (when the set pressure has been reached).
WARNING
The absence of vacuum in the dressing might
determine build-up of exudates triggering infectious
and inflammatory processes. If the absence of
vacuum extends for several days, necrotic eschar
may form.
If suction is interrupted for more than 2 hours,
remove the dressing after irrigating it with saline
solution.
Check the level of exudates in the collection canister.
