Cleaning
•
The outer casing is to be cleaned/disinfected by healthcare workers using a cloth soaked in a preferably
water-based, wide-spectrum disinfectant solution (e.g. chlorhexidine), wringing it out well.
Warning
•
Do not use chlorine-based disinfectant solutions as they will oxidise the
metal parts.
•
Alcohol-based disinfectant solutions should only be used occasionally (once
a month) and only with concentrations in water of not more than 70% in
order to prevent damaging the plastic parts of the device.
•
The cleaning/disinfection operations should always be carried out before
transferring the device to another patient and may be carried out during
treatment cycles on the same patient.
•
Do not let liquids drip into the device during the cleaning operations.
•
Do not spray or pour disinfectant directly onto the device.
Periodic maintenance
Internal rechargeable battery life cycle
The internal rechargeable battery has been tested to withstand at least 500 charge/discharge cycles in the
intended conditions of use (see the paragraph
Ambient conditions of use
).
Nonetheless, because of the composition of this electronic component, the number of charge/discharge
cycles may vary up or down. In the event of poor or no battery life, contact Eurosets Technical Service or an
authorised agent.
Other malfunctions that may occur during normal device operation
In the event of electrical, electronic, pneumatic or mechanical faults, or if you suspect that liquids or solids
have been sucked into the vacuum pump, contact Eurosets Technical Service or an authorised agent.
Periodic maintenance schedule
Device functioning needs to be checked at least every 3 years (36 months); this procedure includes the
replacement of the internal rechargeable batteries. The healthcare facility is responsible for requesting
technical service by the manufacturer or an authorised agent.
Device lifetime
Provided that the above mentioned maintenance schedule and procedures are observed, the device lifetime
is 10 years (120 months) from the date of delivery to the end customer/healthcare facility.
Caution
The essential safety requirements of the device are not guaranteed in case of:
-
maintenance (including battery replacement) and hardware and
software modifications not carried out by the manufacturer or an
authorised agent;
-
failure to observe the periodic maintenance schedule and to request
technical service by the manufacturer or an authorised agent;
-
using the device beyond its lifetime of 10 years (120 months) from the
date of delivery to the end customer/healthcare facility.
