USB FLASH DRIVE 

 APPLICATION UPGRADE 

This procedure describes how to install a program upgrade on the analyzers equipped with the V3.6.A 
software and upgraded software versions. They are the analyzers equipped with the WEB site. 

It should be noted that the upgrade is contained in a single ZIP file named <usbfile.zip>, which 
contains two files: 

1. esa_upg_

analyser

_vxxx.zip  

(example for an AF22M: esa_upg_af22m_v36b.zip

) 

2. esa_upg_

analyser

_vxxx.ctr  

(example for an AF22M: esa_upg_af22m_v36b.ctr

) 

 

Important recommendation  

It is strongly recommended that the user carry out a system backup before performing an upgrade in 
order to be able to retrogress to the previous version if something goes wrong with the installation. 

(See section 1.2) 

 

Upgrade procedure to be carried out on the user’s computer: 

 

Procedure after having selected the <usbfile.zip> file corresponding to the appropriate analyzer 

1.  Unzip the <usbfile.zip> file downloaded from the Web site 

http://www.environnement-sa.com

 or 

received by e-mail. One of the generated files by unzipping is also a password-protected zip-file: 
DO NOT unzip it. 

2.  Place both files into the root directory of the USB flash drive. 

3.  Remove the USB flash drive from the computer. 

 

Upgrade procedure to be carried out on the analyzer: 

 

Procedure after loading the new version on the USB flash drive 

1.  Insert the USB flash drive (previously initialized) on your analyzer. A series of beeps indicates that 

an upgrade is available. After several seconds, the analyzer will 

automatically

 reboot. 

2. The 

« Maintenance »

 menu is displayed with the 

« Application upgrade »

 message for 

approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Then a new series of beeps is emitted and the analyzer will reboot 
again. 

3. The 

« Maintenance »

 menu is displayed 

a second time

 with the 

« Application upgrade »

 message 

for another 1 to 2 minutes. 

4.  The analyzer reboots with the new installed version. As the USB flash drive is always present, the 

USB flash drive option is detected.  

5.  Then remove the USB flash drive according to the procedure detailed in section 1.1.5 to complete 

the operation. 

 

 

Never withdraw the USB flash drive from the analyzer during this operation.
