Micropilot S FMR533 4 to 20 mA HART
Wiring

15
• Installation with additional overvoltage protector HAW560Z/HAW562Z (see XA00081F-B
"Safety instructions for electrical apparatus certified for use in explosion-hazardous areas").
– Connect the external overvoltage protector and the Micropilot S transmitter to the local
potential matching system.
– Potentials shall be equalised both inside and outside the explosion hazardous area.
– The cable connecting the overvoltage protector and the device transmitter shall not exceed
1 m (3.3 ft) in length.
– The cable shall be protected e.g. routed in an armoured hose.
Power supply
• For stand alone operation via two Hauser RN221N.
• For installation in tank gauging system via Tank Side Monitor NRF590 (recommended
operation mode),
Highly accurate measurements
For highly accurate measurements the measured variable must be transmitted using HART
protocol to ensure the necessary resolution.

Screening/potential matching
• You achieve optimum screening against disturbances if the screening is connected on both
sides (in the cabinet and on the device). If you have to reckon with potential equalisation cur-
rents in the plant, only earth screening on one side, preferably at the transmitter.
• When using in hazardous areas, you must observe the applicable regulations and the separate
Ex documentation

Degree of protection
• housing: IP68, NEMA6P (open housing and removed liquid crystal display: IP20, NEMA1)
• antenna: IP68 (NEMA6P)

Post-connection check
After wiring the measuring device, perform the following checks:
• Is the terminal allocation correct (
• Is the cable gland tight?
• Is the housing cover screwed tight?
• If auxiliary power is available:
Is the device ready for operation and does the liquid crystal display show any value?
• Is grounding (tank potential) correct?
