4 Introduction
Memory
The RTU includes both static and flash memory.

Firmware image and report files; with 104 MB reserved for file system
and 128 MB available for database and history

Other than slot 1 in the base chassis (which is reserved for the CPU), any slot can contain an I/O
module. Each 12-channel Mixed I/O module (labelled 3MIX12) supports the following
inputs/outputs
 Eight (8) input channels that you can individually configure using FBxConnect as analog inputs
(AI), digital inputs (DI), or pulse inputs (PI).
 AIs are software-selectable as either 1VDC to-5VDC or 4 mA to 20 mA
 Two (2) analog output channels.
 Two (2) digital output channels.
 As noted, the eight-slot RTU supports seven (7) I/O slots. Table 1-2 shows the maximum
number of I/O channels if all I/O slots are fully populated.
