Connectrix ED-64M User Guide

Configuring the Director

4. If you are finished configuring the director, you can back up the

configuration data. For more information, refer to Backing Up and
Restoring the Configuration on page 7-12.

FICON
Management
Server

The FICON Management Server feature is not available on all EMC
switch/director models. Consult your EMC sales representative for more
information.

The FICON Management Server is a keyed feature that allows host
control and inband management of the director through an IBM
System/390

or zSeries 900 Parallel Enterprise Server attached to a

switch port. The server communicates with the director or through a
FICON channel. Control of connectivity and statistical product
monitoring are provided through a host-attached console.

The optional FICON Management Server feature must be installed in order to
perform this procedure.

To configure the FICON management server:

1. Click Configure on the Product Manager menu bar and select

Management Server

, FICON Management Server from the

drop-down menus.

This displays the window in Figure 5-16.
