Connect an Oscilloscope to A11-7/8. With the Scan Mode set to CONTINUOUS,
verify that the sweep waveform amplitude is -0.5 V to +0.5 V. If not, adjust A11-
R62.
4.4.10 Frequency Display And Prescaler Verification
The following procedures verifies the operation of the front panel Frequency Display cir-
cuitry (integral part of the Front Panel Board A1A2 and Microprocessor Board A1A3) and the
Prescaler Module A12. If the Frequency Display is determined to be defective, it is recommended
that the entire receiver be returned to Electro-Metrics or an Electro-Metrics factory representative
for repair due to the complex nature of this circuitry. If the Prescaler Module is found to be de-
fective, it is recommended that the it be removed and returned to Electro-Metrics for repair or
replacement.
Equipment required: Signal Generator
a.
Set the front panel controls as follows:
DETECTOR ...................................................PEAK
BANDWIDTH ...............................................Wideband position of the frequency
range selected.
ATTENUATION ...........................................0 dB
FREQUENCY RANGE .................................0.009-0.035 MHz.
FREQUENCY DISPLAY ..............................0.022 MHz
SWEEP RATE CONTROL ...........................MAX

Remove the subminiature coaxial cable from A12J1 (LO Input, A12 Prescaler
Module).
c.
Using the information in Table 4.4 (Frequency Display Preset/LO Input Data),
verify the following operations.
1)
With no LO input, verify that the correct Preset number is present for each RF
Frequency Range. If not, refer to Step d.
2)
Using an external Signal Generator, apply an external signal at the frequency
and input level stated for each RF Frequency Range to A12J1. Verify that the cor-
rect frequency appears on the front panel Frequency Display. If not, refer to Step
d.

Result 1:
No LO Input:
Correct Preset Numbers present.
