I-V curve Voltage[V] on X axis
Current[A] on Y axis
I-V curve graph shows the voltage and current
characteristics of a PV battery in the condition
of irradiance, air temp., and PV temp. at the
time of measurement. The crossing point of
x-axis (Voltage axis) and the curve is called “Open Circuit Voltage(Voc)”,
and the crossing point of y-axis (Current axis), and the curve is called
“Short Circuit Current (Isc).”
I-V curve zooming display
While I-V curve is displayed, press +/- key;
the graph is zoomed in x2, x4 and x8 in order.
Press [<]. [>] keys to move the area
displayed. The center value of the Voltage [V]
and the current [A] are numerically shown on
top part of the graph. Use this function to
detect smaller changes of measured values.
P-V curve Voltage[V] on X axis
Power[W] on Y axis
P-V curve graph is a graph which the I-V
curve is converted into the voltage-power
relationship. X-axis is voltage, and Y-axis is
power, and the Peak of P-V curve in this
condition is called Pmax.
Differential curve Voltage[V] on X axis
dI/dV on Y axis
Differential curve takes the differential values
of current against the voltage when the x-axis
is voltage and y-axis is differential data, and
determine to see whether there is any
change in the curve.
The I-V curve is disturbed when there are hot spot or shades, defects
and/or deterioration on the PV cells. This graph indicates the small
disturbance, which are difficult to read on the I-V curve, clearly
emphasized.
