The USB Serial Converter driver installation is complete. Now continue to
the installation of US Serial Port driver.
USB Serial Port driver Installation
1)
Once the USB Serial Converter driver has been installed, Windows shows
“New hardware” (USB Serial Port) popup message.
2)
“Found New Hardware Wizard” starts.
3)
In “Connect to Windows Update” of the wizard,
Select: “No, not this time" (WindowsXP)
Nothing (Windows 2000)
Then press “Next”.
4)
Select “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)”. Click “Next”.
5)
“Search the appropriate driver in the following location” is selected, and
make sure “including the following location” is checked. If not, check.
Click “Detail” button.
6)
Select “CDM2000” folder in “FTDI Driver” folder on the CD. It is the same
folder as the USB Serial Converter driver. Click “OK”.
7)
Make sure the selected folder name appears on the “including the following
location.” Click “Next”.
8)
USB Serial Port driver installation starts automatically. Go to next step if an
error message (file not found etc.) appears.
9)
The USB Serial Port driver installation complete dialog box appears; click
“Complete” button.
10)
Once the installation has been completed, “Found New Hardware”
message will popup.
11)
Re-boot the PC.
Now the installation of USB Serial Port has been completed. Continue to confirming the
completion of installation.
Confirm the Installation
1)
Once the PC is restarted, connect the Main unit and the PC with USB cable.
2)
Start the “Control Panel” on the Windows.
3)
Start the “System”. If use WindowsXP, select “System” from “Performance
& Maintenance”.
4)
Start “Device Manager” from “Hardware”.
5)
Confirm the COM port number created by FTDI USB driver.
The COM number may be different depending on the PC.
