Firmware V1.40 - Doku 2.1 06. April 2016
4.2.2.3 Control by pressure switch with neutral zone
Controller type: UA 111 XP only
Regulation is carried out pressure-dependent using a pressure control switch with neutral zone which is con
nected to two digital inputs (terminals D11/D12 for activation and D31/D32 for deactivation). This pressure
switch is installed in the refrigerant line and compares pressure in the refrigerant line with a reference pressure.
If the pressure is lower or higher, the pressure switch actuates a 230V digital input at the refrigeration point. If a
230 V signal is applied to the input for compressor activation (terminals D11/D12) then a further compressor is
activated following an adjustable activation delay time.
If a 230 V signal is applied to the input for compressor deactivation (terminals D31/D32) then a further compres
sor is deactivated following an adjustable deactivation delay time. A maximum of three compressors can be con
trolled. They can be enabled separately. A maximum number of compressor starts per hour can be defined.
Base load rotation takes place every time a compressor is loaded or unloaded, not later than after 2 hours. Both
compressors are stopped immediately if the set antifreeze protection temperature is reached. They are both
restarted after an adjustable time delay has elapsed.
Forced actuation can also be set in minutes. This means that a compressor will be actuated if none has been
demanded by the pressure switch within the set interval. The time is started as soon as a cooling relay is ener
gized. If forced actuation is active, the pressure switch will not be interrogated again until an adjustable bypass
interval has expired.
This allows the system to build up pressure with the forced-control compressor and, in the least favorable in
stance, to move the pressure switch out of the unload position.
4.2.2.4 Disabling compressors
Controller type: UA 111 X and UA 111 XP only
The compressors not required must be tagged as disabled in the menu 2-5-1 (parameter
Enable
= OFF). Corre
spondingly, the compressors used must be marked as enabled (parameter
Enable
= ON).
4.2.2.5 Limiting compressor starts
Controller type: UA 111 XP only
In order to protect the compressors from motor failure the maximum number of switching operations per hour for
all compressors combined can be specified, see menu item 2-5-1.
4.2.2.6 Compressor load/unload delay
Controller type: UA 111 X and UA 111 XP
A load delay can be defined for each compressor, requiring the set time to expire after exceeding the tempera
ture setpoint before the compressor is started. In the same manner, an unload delay can be defined for stopping
the compressor.
The delay times refer to the ”logical” base load, i.e. peak load compressor. That means
”Delay C1 ON” / ”Delay C1 OFF” always refers to the base load compressor, i.e.
”Delay C2 ON” / ”Delay C2 OFF” always refers to the peak load compressor.
The regulations for base load rotation (see chapter 4.2.2.3) proscribe which of the physically existing compres
sors are specified as the ”logical” base load, i.e. peak load compressor.
