Sonix 350-d Technical Manual
1 Introduction
These instructions are intended for all users who will
have to install, commission, configure and setup the
Sonix 350-d amplifier unit. It is assumed that you have
necessary electrical, electronic and telecommunications
experience to undertake the work. If in doubt, please
speak to your local Eaton representative.
1.1 Eaton quality assurance

undamaged and that the contents are all correct and
complete.
Should this product reach you in an unsatisfactory
condition please report this to Eaton to enable us to
rectify and investigate the fault in a speedy manner.
1.2 About the Product
The Sonix 350-d power amplifier is a compact, 1U,
350 W PA/GA amplifier module, complete with power
supply, status panel and thermal management units. A
complete, sealed unit design: no need for sub frames
or cards which reduces the risk of failure between
distributed parts and dramatically reduces down-time in
the unlikely event of equipment replacement.
Sonix 350-d autonomously monitors and supervises the
amplifier, loudspeaker cable installation and loop integrity
with an inaudible signal. The robust and industrial design
of the 350-d amplifier ensures its protection against
open or short circuit, load deviation and abnormal loads
associated with field loop faults. Designed with safety
in mind, the 350-d automatically isolates its high voltage
outputs if any cable is inadvertently unplugged.
In the event of abnormally high ambient temperatures,
the 350-d is fitted with an intelligent, multi stage auto
reset/retry over temperature protection device that
isolates the unit until the temperature fault is rectified.
Internal power supply and fans are fully monitored to
ensure uninterrupted operation and life integrity.
Any detected faults are reported on the status panel and
communicated to the Sonix 2Mx central controller and
Sonix SAS application.
