Sonix 350-d Technical Manual
•
Red
− Internal amplifier fault
− Reset fault and force a re-test by running a local
sense test
− Check transformer connections (this requires
removal from rack)
− Re-check by running a sense test
•
Earth indicator
•
Green + Slow Flashing Red
− Previous Earth fault seen, check SAS log for any
details
•
Red
− Fault detected between Earth and 100V line
− Isolating amplifier from external loudspeaker lines
should show if fault is internal or external to the
PA/GA rack
− Internal faults will need an amplifier replacement
− External faults should be identified using standard
techniques such as splitting the loops into
sections
•
Line indicator
•
Green + Slow Flashing Red
− Previous Line fault seen
•
Fast flashing red
− Eol 8 Bus safety interlock
− Check Eol 8 bus connections are properly
inserted
− Ensure Eol 8 bus connections are not crossed
over with another Amplifier
− Hot standby amplifiers will be checking hot
standby bus connections – check all cables are
properly inserted
•
Red
− Loudspeaker loop test failure
•
Fan indicator
•
Green + Slow Flashing Red
− Previous fan fault seen
•
Red
− One, or both, of the internal fans are not detected
as rotating correctly
− Check that fans are not obstructed How?
− Check fan power
•
Temperature indictor
•
Green + Slow Flashing Red
− Previous temperature fault seen
•
Red
− Amplifier is in over-temperature fault
− Check configuration has a sensible value set
− Check that amplifier front and rear grills are not
blocked
•
Overload indicator
•
Green + Slow Flashing Red
− Previous overload fault seen
•
Red
− Unit has detected a load that is beyond its safe
output capabilities, likely a short circuit
− Unit will auto-reset after 10 seconds
− Isolate amplifier from external loudspeaker lines
should show if fault is internal or external to the
PA/GA rack
− Internal faults will need more careful investigation
and possible amplifier replacement
− Check for cross wiring between amplifiers
− External faults are likely be to shorts between
100 V line connections
− Check for cross over of 100 V line returns versus
out connections (eff to – connection)
•
Hot Standby indicator
•
Green
− Amplifier is a hot standby amplifier – Not a fault
•
Flashing green
− Amplifier is in fault and has routed the hot
standby audio onto its loudspeaker loop
− Check the amplifier for other faults, including a
lack of data communications
•
AC indicator
•
Green + Slow Flashing Red
− Previous AC fault seen
•
Red
− Unit has detected AC missing
− If AC is not in fault, then unit will need to be
replaced
− If no AC power is required, check the
configuration
•
DC PSU indicator
•
Green + Slow Flashing Red
− Previous DC PSU fault seen
•
Red
− Unit has detected DC PSU voltage fault
− Internal PSU fault, unit will need replacement
− Will be seen on AC power loss if unit has
secondary dc power connection
•
Battery indicator
•
Green + Slow Flashing Red
− Previous Battery input fault seen
•
Red
− Unit has detected battery input voltage fault
− If no battery power is required, check the
configuration
− Check the battery input connection is properly
inserted
− Check any external dc fuses
