Figure 14. Ticktone travel over faulty loudspeaker loop.
The Ticktone is a nominally 750 Hz pulse that lasts for
200 milliseconds and repeats approximately every 3
seconds. It is played with a reduced volume of 20 V
peak-peak (± 1V).
Ticktone is always the lowest priority event and will
be overridden by every other system activity. When
overridden by Routine Speech or Important Message,
it will auto-resume when the speech ends. It will not,
however, be restored after an alarm.
If the Ticktone is not interrupted by system, it will carry
on for the duration set in the confi guration (see SAS
Product Manual for details).

N
Locally initiated Ticktone will only play over the loudspeakers
connected to that specific amplifier. Please refer to Global Ticktone
functionality inside the 2Mx Technical Manual for Ticktone played over
all zones.
5.3.2 Sense Test
Sense Test is an integrity test for the 100 V loudspeaker
line. It is an inaudible, amplifi er generated 21 kHz pulse sent
once over the connected speaker loops to check the wire
connection to all loudspeakers. The signal is sent through the
out path only of the amplifi er and through the Eol 8 unit to the
loudspeaker loop. It is then expected to come back on the
return path and into the 350-d, as per diagram below:
