Example-1 Continued:
How to Select Settings for DIP Switches DS1 and
DS2 on Logic Board:
(Refer to Instruction Manual, Table 3-1). Select
DS1 by looking in first column (DS2=000). Use a
rating that is equal or slightly higher than 236.8
amps. Since we must satisfy both starting and
running current, we must look at the same row,
reading across, to find a setting equal or slightly
less than the FLA (180 amps). We select 242.8
from the 1st column and 176.1 in the same row,
reading across to the right.
DS1 Setting Ò1101Ó
(Note: The 1st column
must always be used for
the Starting Current
Calibration.)
242.8 Amps:
ÒStartingÓ Current Calibration
- Current Limit Adjust (200-500%) 486-1214
amps.
- Set Current Limit full CW 1214 amps, which
exceeds the Max Locked Rotor Current of
1184 amps. This is 658% of motor full load
amps. At this ac current level, and with a
current trip setting of 1.00, the trip time will be
approximately 15 seconds.
This setting of DS1 would permit starting
under full locked rotor conditions because
when utilizing the Extended Time-Current
option, only DIP switch DS1 is in effect during
start.
176.1 Amps:
ÒRunningÓ Current Calibration
- Current Trip Adjust (100-120%) 176-211
Amps.
- The normal factory setting is 100%. The
Current Trip can be adjusted for other service
factors if desired.
The Extended Time-Current option
automatically enables DIP switch DS2 at the
End-Of-Ramp, and therefore the electronic
overcurrent circuit would be calibrated to the
combined settings of the two DIP switches
DS1 and DS2.
