1.2 Description and function auxiliary compactor
The V5100TV-H and V6000TV-H screeds are also equipped with auxiliary compac-
tors.
The standard vibration is omitted when equipped with auxiliary compactor.
The auxiliary compactors of the basic screed have their own hydraulic drives.
The extension part auxiliary compactor is driven by coupling shafts between the basic
screed and extension part respectively between extension part and extension part.
Separate heating rods are responsible for heating the auxiliary compactor sliding
plates.
With auxiliary compactors, coatings can be laid more quickly with sufficient precom-
paction, so that a higher output is achieved, maintaining the same quality.
The auxiliary compactor permits thicker paving layers and higher pre-compaction at
good paving speeds. The higher load-bearing capacities result in fewer rolling faults
and workload in the downstream roll-on phase.
Top surfaces can be laid with a better surface finish.
The function can be switched off for paving situations that require operation without
auxiliary compactor. When idle, the auxiliary compactor sliding plate acts as a
smoothing plate.
