Refitting the choke control
Notes
The choke control is supplied as a replacement part complete with the adjusters and cable.
Lubricate the choke cable (2).
Insert the choke cable (2) in the left-hand handlebar switch and locate the inner cable end fitting (L) in its notch.
Refit the left-hand switch (14) to the handlebar and tighten the screws (H) to the specified torque (Sect. C 3, Frame torque
settings).
Check that the choke lever is in its rest position.
Position the new cable (2) along the frame following the route of the original cable.
Tighten the adjuster (11) on throttle body support.
Insert the inner cable (2) in the hole of the rocker, in spring (7) and in the throttle body linkage.
Pull the end of the inner cable to keep the cable taut and tighten the screw (E).
Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjuster (11) to obtain a little freeplay of the outer cable.
Rotate the lever fully downwards and make sure that throttle body lever (M) locates against the stop (N). If not, loosen the
screw (E) and release the inner cable (2).
Repeat the procedure until the lever (M) touches the stop (N).
Turn the handlebar fully to the right and left and make sure lever (M) does not move. If it does, loosen the adjuster screw (11).
Once the correct adjustment is obtained, tighten the lock nut against the adjuster (11).
