When Lab report is selected, a special protocol with
enhanced sensor data is provided.
Test subject data are not printed in both cases.
7 Troubleshooting
7.1 Error, cause, remedy
NOTICE
The control mode and laboratory protocol settings are
disabled after turning off the instrument.

Cause Remedy
No function after power-on Fuses defective. Check the fuses, replace if necessary,
see page 26.
Power supply insufficient. Check power supply.
»ZERO TEST INCORRECT«
(BLANK CHECK INCORRECT)
Zero value calibration faulty. Ensure clean ambient air free from
alcohol. Ventilate test space.
»MOUTH ALCOHOL«
(MOUTH ALCOHOL)
Residual alcohol in the mouth of the test
subject. The test subject has taken or
brought up alcohol immediately prior to
the test.
Remedy the cause. Repeat
measurement after a waiting period.
Observe control time.
»MINIMUM VOLUME NOT ACHIEVED«
(MIN VOLUME NOT ACHIEVED)
The provided volume is smaller than the
required minimum volume.
The instrument automatically prompts for
a repeat of the breath sample.
»BLOWINGTIME TOO SHORT«
(BLOWINGTIME TOO SHORT)
The time for which the breath sample is
delivered is shorter than the minimum
requested.
The instrument automatically requests a
repeat of the breath sample
»BLOWING NOT ALLOWED«
(BLOWING NOT ALLOWED)
Breath sample delivery at a not permitted
time, instrument not ready for
measurement (reblow).
Instruct the test subject in the correct
provision of the breath sample. Start new
measurement.
»READINESS TO BLOW EXPIRED«
(READINESS TO BLOW EXP.)
Readiness for measurement of
3 minutes has expired. The breath
sample was not started during this time.
Start new measurement.
»ALCOHOL IN THE ENVIRONMENT«
(ALCOHOL IN ENVIRONMENT)
Contamination in the ambient air has
been detected.
Ensure clean ambient air free from
alcohol. Ventilate test space.
»CHECK AIRWAY« The purging volume required for purging
the system has not been achieved.
Check the breath hose inlet. If without
anomalies, start new measurement.
If the error recurs: inform DrägerService.
»DATA INPUT TIMEOUT«
(DATA INPUT TIMEOUT)
No data input within 10 minutes despite
prompt.
Start new measurement.
Enter data when prompted to do so.
»INTERFERENCE«
(INTERFERENCE)
The two independent measuring
systems have detected an impermissible
influence on the measuring values by
foreign substances in the breath.
Identify the cause of this interference
and rectify if possible.
If necessary, trigger other measures to
secure evidence.
»CALIBRATION EXPIRED (DISABLED)« Calibration interval expired. Calibrate the instrument or contact
DrägerService.
The following errors are indicated on the
screen in English language with an error
code and a text message:

The error code and the text message are
printed on the printer.

Instrument defective
(XXX = code specifying the error)
The instrument will automatically block
all measuring processes if it detects the
error.
The set temperature for the sensor or
hose is not reached.
Turn off the instrument.
Check whether the error returns after
reactivation.
If yes: inform DrägerService. Have the
instrument serviced.
Ensure that the ambient conditions are
met. Switch off instrument, if required put
on instrument cover and switch on again.
If the error should reoccur upon
switch-on, inform Dräger Safety.
