Power Saving
The Power Saving option provides a means of
shutting the HDD off after a preset time and
while no recording or playback is in progress.
This is referred to as the
HDD Time Out . This
type of HDD management is used to increase
the reliability of the HDD over its operational
lifetime. A brief delay is introduced as a result
of the
HDD Time Out
setting when the start of
recording or playback is initiated.
Forward Skip
During recording or playback the
:
Forward
Skip button is used to move a preset time, in
seconds or minutes, ahead in the program title.
In the case where recording is in progress,
Forward Skip can only be used if the program
title is in Chase mode. Refer to the section on
Chase and Chase Play
. There are 5 incremental
preset times associated with the
:
Forward Skip
button including Title Start. Each button press
determines how far forward the program title
moves from its current position. The
:
Forward
Skip incremental preset times can be changed to
suit your viewing requirements.
1. Select Disc Setup from the MAIN MENU and
press ENTER.
2. Select
Power Saving
using the Ç or È
buttons and press ENTER.
3. Enter yours or the default password, – 0000
using the numeric keypad on the RCU. HDD
Time Out after
shows the current timeout
value.
4. Press ENTER. The current timeout value is
highlighted.
5. Press the Ç or È button to select the new
timeout value and press ENTER.
6. Press the EXIT button to clear any menus and
return to normal viewing.
