4 Cable signal propagation time measurement
From this table, you can deduce whether the length and propagation time values are "realis-
tic measurements" or "probable faults".
In case of deviation, i.e. a probable fault, check the cable connections. Try unplugging and
re-plugging the short-circuit plug into the UAE connector (FP end of the cable), repeating the
measurement and reading out the memory content again.
Display states of the two LEDs (both LEDs can display two colours, red or green):
The measurement procedure is carried out as follows:
After you have connected the base station as shown above, LED 1 blinks green and LED 2
blinks red, you can start the measurement by pressing the button (if you have already carried
out a previous measurement, LED 2 may be in a different state).
If the measurement is concluded and the data have been transmitted to the PABX system suc-
cessfully, both LEDs should show green. Any other combination of displays indicates a meas-
urement failure (cf. table above). LED 1 will start to blink again after approximately ten
seconds (indicates a connection to PABX has been established).
This procedure must be repeated for each individual base station location.
