5 Programming the system

TOD 8/9/A/B8D

Process portable part data

TD.type: Terminal device type. The Stimulus protocol is always used for the varix M2.

No:

Counter for the PP (not the telephone number!). This does not need to be specified,

the PABX determines it automatically.

FP-Class: Class of service for access. Always 0 for unstructured systems.

R/S/la: For technical reasons, a portable part must also be assigned a slot address, al-

though this is not logically necessary. Any address on which a fixed part (base sta-
tion) has been configured can be used. It is also permissible to assign several (up
to 8) PPs to one address. CAUTION: currently, it is only permissible to assign PPs
to interface address (Ia) 01 (and not on 03).

IPEI*:

International Portable Part Equipment Identity. A world-wide unique serial number

for the respective PP.
Important: It is not possible to use a portable part if the respective IPEI is not
known.

AC:

Authentication Code. A code which must be defined once when initially enrolling

the PP. If it is not specified here, the default value (12345678) which is set up
under TOD E1C will be used. If an individual AC is entered, it must be unique in
the system.

Note that the term IPUI has now been replaced by IPEI. However, in the TOD shown above, the IPUI (a different
serial number to the IPEI) is still shown.
The IPEI is entered using the Comfort Service PC menu item sequence: "Special"/"DECT"/"Portable Parts…".

Note!

For field test purposes, the portable parts (SW) have been changed to the IPEI, but the SPC
entry screens have not yet been modified.
