Limits to the number of PPs that can be operated simultaneously
The maximum PP capacity listed applies to cells with a 50 m radius inside of buildings,
assuming that there is no interference from other systems, including unsynchronized individual
DECT fixed parts. A brief simultaneous use of two channels (handover preparation) for a single
PP is not taken into consideration here.
The following table shows a matrix for 120 channels, of these, the channel and time slot allo-
cations for a maximum of 30 active PPs are configured by the DECT system.
The varix 200/14 uses a blind-slot technique in which only certain slots, e.g. slot 0, 2, 4,... etc.
out of 12 can be used, in other words, the neighbouring slots left free.
At very close radio ranges, the radiated transmitter power of the respective channel may be
so high that the adjacent channels cannot be used, which means that CH 1 and CH 3 can-
not be used if channel 2 is being operated.
