Insert the endodontic file (

part of the endodontic file (

) directly below the plastic handle and above the stopper

Move the endodontic file apically until reference point (default reference point or
reference point defined as per Shaping Target function) is reached.

Set the silicon stopper at the coronal reference.

Remove the endodontic file from the root canal and use an external ruler to measure the
distance between the tip of the endodontic file and the silicon stopper. This information
will be relevant for subsequent files in your sequence.

Compare this distance information with the corresponding information given by pre-
treatment radiographs.

Proceed with endodontic treatment. Carefully monitor file progression to avoid over-
instrumentation.
