No sound or no light signal emitted during treatment.
Possible causes
Solutions
•
The battery is completely empty (all LEDs
are OFF).
•
Connect the device to the charger and
charge the device.
•
Electronic malfunction.
•
Perform a factory reset.
•
Send the device to Dentsply Sirona
Endodontics Customer Service.
Endodontic file progression indication is unstable or frozen.
Possible causes
Solutions
•
Calcified or obliterated root canal.
•
Extremely dry root canal.
•
Old root filling residues creating a
blockage due to insufficient removal of
intra-canal medicament (i.e. calcium
hydroxide).
•
Check comparative X-rays for more
information and repeat reading on
Propex IQ
®
Apex Locator to verify the
result.
•
Rinse with NaOCl solution. Dry access
cavity with cotton ball / air blow.
•
Do a comparative X-ray, and fully remove
old gutta-percha / intra-canal medicament.
•
Endodontic file too narrow for large root
canal.
•
Large lateral canal.
•
Deep caries provide a conductive path
outside the canal.
•
Perforation.
•
Select a larger endodontic file.
•
Block the external conductive path.
•
Propex IQ
®
Lip Clip incorrectly attached to
patient mouth. Insufficient contact between
the lip clip and the oral mucosa.
•
Endodontic file incorrectly connected to
the file clip (i.e. connected to the metal
shaft).
•
Soiled
Propex IQ
®
File Clip.
•
Place the lip clip in the patient mouth and
ensure a good contact between the
mucosa and lip clip (place the lip clip in the
labial angle opposite to the tooth to be
treated).
•
Ensure that the endodontic file and the file
clip are properly in contact with each other.
•
Perform a closed-loop test.
•
Clean the file clip according to the
reprocessing instructions in
Disinfection and Sterilization
•
Defective connection cable.
•
Check cables and sockets for visible
damage and ensure the connections are
correct.
•
Perform a closed-loop test to test cable
functionality.
