Network and Dial-up Connection
“Network and Dial-up Connection” is used to connect the BHT to a network
for uploading and downloading files from a remote location.
Double tap the Network and Dial-up Connection icon in the Control Panel.
Then, double tap the
“Make New Connection” to create a new network
connection.
Enter a new connection name and choose a connection type by following
the instructions given by the wizard.
Connection type:
USB Serial :Connects to a network via a cradle USB
LAN / SMSC95001 :Connects to a network via a cradle LAN
WLAN / PASS-TIWLNAPI1 :Connects to a network via a Wireless LAN
The LAN and WLAN icon in the Network and Dial-up Connection window are used to set the
“IP address”
and
“name servers”.
When the BHT connects to a network via a cradle LAN or wireless LAN, set the
“IP address” and “name
servers
” as necessary.
To open the
“IP address” and “name servers” settings, double tap the LAN
icon or WLAN icon whichever the BHT is connecting to.
To set the IP address, tap the
“IP Address” tab.
Obtain an IP address via DHCP:
Select this option to automatically obtain an IP address (dynamic IP
address) from the DHCP server.
Specify an IP address:
Select this option to manually enter an IP address (static IP address).
To set the IP address for the name server, tap the
“Name Servers” tab.
Primary DNS : Enter the IP address for the Primary DNS server.
Secondary DNS : Enter the IP address for the Secondary DNS server.
Primary WINS : Enter the IP address for the Primary WINS server.
Secondary WINS : Enter the IP address for the Secondary WINS server.

Note

Contact your network administrator for the IP addresses.
Owner
“Owner” is used to set up the owner properties (such as the user name,
password and domain name) that is required to access the network resource.
To set up the Owner properties, double tap the
“Owner” icon in the Control
Panel, then tap the
“Network ID” tab.
