Design the Variation of Displacement by CAM Curves
1. Click “Data Setting” in data setting area and the Stroke Setting window will pop up. You can describe the
CAM curveby a Function by this window so that point-to-point description is not required here. In addition,
DVP-PM currentlyprovides users with 5 CAM curves: Const Speed, Const Acc., Single Hypot., Cycloid,
and BSpline.
2. In Stroke Setting window, there are many sections which compose a complete CAM curve. Every section
defines a part of the CAM curve and multiple sections form a full CAM curve. Settings for every section
include Angle, Stroke, CAM Curve and Resolution as explained below:

Angle: Degree of Master

must be an incremental value bigger than 0.

Stroke: Displacement of Slave

can be a positive or negative value.

CAM Curve: The applied function for current section
z
Resolution: set up E-CAM Data resolution for current section. Set range for a full E-CAM Data:10~2048
points. 1 point of E-CAM Data occupies 10 steps of user program area (Total 64k steps). If resolution is
not specified, PMSoft will automatically distribute the remaining points into blank columns. In addition,
resolution should be specified according to the requirement of control devices. The operation is
smoother with higher resolution but occupies more capacity (steps).
3. The editting on Stroke Setting window is similar to that on Excel of Microsoft Office, therefore you can
copy, paste, or cut the cells by right-clicking on the sections.
