Installation

Installing in a Console Environment

To install the software in a console environment:

To start the installation program, enter the directory appropriate for the system and enter the

command:

setup_console.bin

Read the provided information and press

Enter

to continue the installation.

Review the selected installation options. If the options are correct, click

Install

to begin the

installation.

When the installation program is complete, click

Done

Reboot the system to activate the software.
The installation program stores the Dell UPS Management Software run environment variables in

/etc/profile.

Starting the Software

This section includes startup instructions for Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.

Software Startup in a Microsoft Windows Operating System

To start the software in a Microsoft Windows operating system:

Start the Agent using one of the following methods:
• Set the Agent to start automatically at computer startup.
• Select

Start menu > All Programs > Dell UPS Management Software

to start the Tray Icon and

Agent (see Figure 19).
