The "ground button" may be disabled or hidden depending on the selected leakage test. For AAMI and
IEC60601 earth leakage, the button is disabled, its image is set to the open-circuit icon, and the ground at
the test receptacle is maintained in the open state. For IEC62353 equipment leakage, and for AAMI
isolation or IEC MAP tests, the "ground button" is hidden and the receptacle's ground is maintained in a
state appropriate for the test (open for equipment leakage; or closed for isolation/MAP test).
The "neutral button" controls the neutral or line 2 connection at the test receptacle.
For AAMI enclosure leakage, IEC60601 and 61010 touch current, or for IEC60601 patient leakage, if the
receptacle ground has previously been set to open, and the neutral is then opened, the ground is closed
automatically by the app to avoid a double-fault test condition.

leakage test, the "neutral button" is disabled, its image is set to the closed or default icon, and receptacle line
2 is maintained in the closed state. For IEC62353 equipment leakage, and for AAMI isolation or IEC MAP
tests, the neutral button is hidden and receptacle line 2 is maintained in a state appropriate for the test
(closed in all cases).
The "polarity button" controls polarity of the test receptacle.
When the "polarity button" is pressed, a process is launched to ensure the polarity is changed in a safe
manner.
During the polarity change, the readout is blanked and all buttons on the UI are disabled (see Figure 13 ).
Per Figure 13 , the text field in the middle of the screen is used to display a timer which counts down from
the polarity switching delay time. When the timer reaches zero, the UI buttons are re-enabled and the
receptacle is switched ON with the polarity indicated on the UI. The text field above the buttons is restored
to the name of the leakage test, prefixed by the standard.
