If you select the first option, you will go to the Standards screen, where you will be able to define and Run a
protocol based on a standard, or alternately go from the Standards screen to the Sequence screen and select
a ‘named’ sequence to Run. While the expectation is that a test Run without a device_ID will not be saved,
there is still an opportunity to assign an ID and save the test at the end if you change your mind. However,
Equipment Information can only be entered at the Standards screen stage by touching the Back icon
. There is no capability to enter Equipment Information at the Test Record save screen.
Note that when starting a test with no device_id or when modifying a sequence, there is no Equipment
Information to pre-load. Each time you go to the Equipment Information screen it will be blanked, but
can, if required, be loaded with the data from the last saved test by using the Load Last button. However,
when you return to the Standards screen, a default standard test may be loaded which overwrites any
changes you have made. Make any test protocol changes
after
filling out the Equipment Information data
to avoid unexpected changes to your protocol.
If you select the ‘Modify an existing sequence’ option, you will go directly to the Sequences screen where
you can select a ‘named’ sequence, select Edit and then modify the protocol and subsequently save it as the
same ‘named’ sequence.
Finally, if the blank input was an error, the third option allows returning to the Equipment ID dialog and
entering a valid device ID.
