7 Use the vacuum cleaner to clean all visible surfaces on the inside and outside of
the card trays and their covers.
8 Close the cover of the printer if it is open and press to latch it in place.
9 Replace the card input and output trays and their covers and latch them in place.
Lock the printer if needed.
10 Plug the power cable into the receptacle.
Continue with other care and cleaning tasks or resume card printing.

Cleaning the printhead
The printhead can have contamination stuck to it. You might notice this contamination
as unprinted lines on printed cards. Use a cleaning pen to remove the contamination
from the printhead and restore the quality of printed cards.
Clean the printhead only when needed, such as when:

The printhead has been accidentally touched, such as when changing supplies or
fixing a card jam
•
Replacing the printhead
•
You observe problems with card appearance, as instructed in “Troubleshooting”
on page 8-1 .
