6.2 Detection test

If it is lit or flashing and the IR beam is not blocked then:
A.
Reckeck the optical alignment (see chapter
“5.4 Optical Alignment and verification”
).
B.
In a configuration with several receiver/transmitter sets, the receiver can receive the infra-red
transmissions of a non-associated transmitter.To avoid interference and incorrect operation
check the correct selection of the infra red transmission channel (see chapter
“5.2 Selection
of infra red beam transmit & receive channels”
).
C.
Infra red transmissions can reach a non-associated receiver by reflexion from the ground or a
wall. Also good reflectors of “visible” light are also of good reflectors of infra-red
transmissions. If interfering reflectors are present and causing a problem remove them from
around the beam or re-position the module and re-do the optical alignment.
2.
Verify that the low battery LED indicator of the transmitter and receiver is OFF. If the LED flashes, the power of the battery is low.
Replace any low batteries with new ones.
3.
Check correct detection at the three following points, that the receiver
alarm LED
lights when the
dual Infra red beam is broken (both beams).
A.
Just in front of the transmitter.
B.
Just in front of the receiver.
C.
Halfway between the transmitter and the receiver.

IMPORTANT: the infrared barrier only has the “OR” detection function. This means that for a stacked
installation (when modules are superimposed), movement is detected as soon as one or several
infra red beams are broken. The barrier does not include the “AND” function (which only detects
movement when all the beams are interrupted).
