Automatic Drain Valve
●
Activation principles
The solenoid coil(4) loses its electric
power and core(1) which is under the
pressure of the storage tank,
approaches the sheet(2), while the bus
is in operation.
A mixture of water and oil is collected
in the empty space(5) through the
open sheet(6).
The solenoid oil earns its electric
power and starts its movement, and
the core(1) approaches the upper
sheet(2) after opening the lower sheet
(6), upon application of the brake
pedal. The contaminated mixture flows
to the empty space(5), which is now
below the core, through the core

route.
The circulation stops, the solenoid coil
(4) loses its electric power and stops
the movement, and the core eliminates
the contaminated mixture from being
under the pressure of the storage tank
and become in contact with the sheet
(2), upon releasing of the brake.
Drain function can be tested manually
by pressing the red button(3) of the
automatic drain valve.

Inspection & Maintenance cycle
Every 10,000km or every 3 months.
●
Inspection point
Check the air evacuation of the auto
drain valve and the magnetic activation
noise by applying and releasing the
brake pedal about 5 times.
If any defect is found, repair or replace
the automatic drain valve using the
repair kit.
Check the operating condition again
after reinstallation, and check for air
leakage using soap water.

REFERENCE
Contaminants such as air and oil
are drained automatically from the
auto drain valve upon releasing of
the brake pedal. Approximately 2cc
of air is evacuated such action.
Adjust the tightening torque of the
tank connecting nut to 30
±
5Nm,
when reinstalling the automatic
drain valve.
