d. Flexible architecture. In the minimum configuration, one input card may be
used with one track and hold and one output card in a non-redundant
system. In a maximum configuration, up to 200 outputs are available from
the shelf.
e. Wander and jitter attenuation: Bellcore TR-NWT-000499 compliance.
f. Clock tracking: algorithms with relatively fast acquisition times for power-up
and return from the HOLD state. After the signal is acquired, a slower
tracking state is entered to provide attenuation of wander with settling times
of 3000 seconds (Stratum 3E/LNC) or 10,000 seconds (Stratum 2/TNC).
g. Industry compliance: Bellcore TA-TSY-000378 and TA-NPL-000436, AT&T
PUB 60110, ANSI*/T1.101-1994, ITU-T G.703-1988, ITU-T G.811-1988
(PRC), and ITU-T G.812-1988 (TNC, LNC). Fully NEBS compliant.

h. Frequency tracking: ±7.1 Hz (Stratum 3E) or ±0.04 Hz (Stratum 2); ±9.4 Hz
(LNC) or ±0.05 Hz (TNC).
i. Frequency tracking accuracy: 1 x 10
-11
for Stratum 1 per Bellcore
GR-1244-CORE or PRC per ITU-T G.811.
j. Holdover stability: 1 x 10
-10
for 48 hours for Stratum 2.
k. Invalid input signal detection: feature of 54511/54512 Input Cards, 54522,
54523, 54591, and 54593 Track and Hold Clock Cards, and 54541/54542
Synchronization Monitor Card(s).
l. Floating alarm contacts (provided by the 54560 Alarm Interface Card):
Major (loss of both sources of input synchronization or any other condition
causing loss of one or more output pairs) and Minor (loss of any one input
or any one output).
m. Performance monitoring: includes time interval error (TIE), maximum time
interval error (MTIE), and wander and jitter of the two reference inputs and
any of the three external DS1 or E1 signals supplied by the 54541/54542
Synchronization Monitor Card (with an additional five signals if a second
54541 or 54542 card is installed). Terminating, bridging, and monitor inputs
are provided for each of the five (or ten) DS1/E1 input signals.
n. Status, performance, and alarm reporting: through local and remote EIA
RS-232 ports as well as by remote control of oscillator mode and output
selection provided by the 54550 Information Management Card.
o. Low power consumption: for a full system, approximately 90 watts for
Stratum 3E, 105 watts for Stratum 2, 88 watts for LNC, 105 watts for TNC,
and 110 watts for Stratum 1 or PRC.
p. Rack mounting: Fully NEBS-compatible.
