4.7 Install Fiber Optic Bypass Switch (Optional)

Make Fiber Optic Bypass Switch connections as shown in Figure 4-13 and Figure 4-14.

4.7.1 Auxiliary Connection

The optional Fiber Optic Bypass switch is used to provide an uninterrupted fiber-optic
path when the node is not powered up.

The Auxiliary Connection at the Media Card is used for communication with the Fiber
Optic Bypass Switch. The 8-pin modular in-line plug male-pin connection (Figure 4-15)
is defined in Table 4-6. (The view in Figure 4-15 is looking into the connector.)
