3.2 USE OF SPECIAL OPTIONS:
Automatic Metering

Automatic Metering
(For detergent, rust inhibitor, or other liquid
additive)
When the automatic metering option is included on
an Optimum Console system, detergent, rust
inhibitor or other liquid additive can be introduced
into the wash or rinse tanks through the use of a
small metering pump.
A metering pump is used in conjunction with the
automatic fill option. The pump is activated by the
same signal that opens the auto-fill solenoid.
(Activation is signaled either by a timer, for the
addition of water over a pre-set length of time; or
by a liquid level control system maintaining a fixed
liquid level in a tank.)
Upon activation, the metering pump delivers a pre-
set amount of additive into the supply flow.
Typically, the additive is stored in a 1- or 5-gallon
reservoir (carboy), that may be located inside the
console. In some cleaning consoles, a flowmeter
and pressure regulator are installed on the tank’s
supply line.
