While wearing gloves, remove the plate from its packaging, and
discard any packaging material that may be attached to it.

When prompted by the workstation, position the medium on the
manual bypass tray, sliding it between the tray and the door handle.

CAUTION

: You MUST ensure all slip sheets and packaging material have

been removed from both the back and front of a plate before you image it
in the output device. Otherwise, the thermal laser could ignite the paper,
causing a fire in the output device.

Note:

Ensure that the side of the plate to be imaged (the emulsion side) is

facing you. With plates, the emulsion side is usually the duller-looking
surface.
