The device inside the output device onto which media is mounted for
imaging by the laser.
exposure head
Using infrared thermal energy, the head “burns” or transfers images onto
IR-sensitive media. Also called an
imaging head .
file
An electronic text description of one or more images, using the PostScript
language. At this time the workstation software does not support files
containing multiple PostScript showpage operators.

image
An electronic bitmap that is exposed onto a plate. The output device
receives images from the workstation and produces exposed, undeveloped
plates.
imaging head See exposure head .
load ramp
The glass ramp onto which you load a medium for imaging.
media Refers to the physical material—the plates—onto which an image is
exposed. The output device produces one exposed medium (plate) for each
image.
PDF
Adobe’s Portable Document Format. A cross-platform computer file
format.
plate
A physical medium upon which an image is exposed. The Trendsetter
produces one exposed plate per image.
plate processor
A piece of equipment that can be used with the Trendsetter to develop
plates. Also called a developer.
output device
The platemaker that is part of the Trendsetter system.
registration The alignment of different plates to produce one printed image.
SCSI
Small Computer System Interface. This type of connection is used to send
image data from the workstation to the output device.
